To prevent food from sticking, preheat the griddle before adding oil. Wait until the oil is hot before starting to cook, and avoid preheating to a high temperature. It is best to preheat the griddle from medium-low to medium for optimal results. Preheating at high temperatures can cause the cooking oil to burn onto the surface, making it difficult to remove.

To prevent warping of the griddle, avoid using large quantities of frozen food on a hot surface, as extreme temperature changes can cause warping. Do not preheat the griddle too much, especially when cooking frozen foods. Use the burner to heat up slowly, as rapid heating may result in thermal shock and cracking. Ensure that the temperature does not exceed 400 degrees, or 350 degrees if the griddle is made of Teflon.

For cleaning, wait until the griddle has completely cooled down before washing it with warm water. Do not use cold water on a hot griddle. Use the right size burner to avoid uneven heating and warping. If slight warping occurs, allow the griddle to cool down on its own or slowly heat it up again.
